Leadership Changes and Warm Welcome to our New Principal

Dear Sherwood Heights Junior High Families,

As we approach the end of this school year, our commitment to providing exceptional education and fostering a strong community spirit remains steadfast. We are entering a new era for Sherwood Heights, and we are confident these changes will only strengthen our school community.

Starting in August 2024, we are thrilled to welcome Mr. Sunny Sandhu as the new Principal of Sherwood Heights Junior High. Mr. Sandhu brings an impressive track record in education and administration, having served in various roles within EIPS since 2005. His extensive experience and dedication to student success will be invaluable as we navigate the transition of Sherwood Heights Junior High and École Campbelltown students to the new K-9 replacement school, a project set to be completed by the 2026-27 school year. Joining Mr. Sandhu, Mrs. Angela Sonnenberg, and Mrs. Darby Stewart will bring their unique skills and compassion to our community as Assistant Principals.

On a personal note, I have been given the privilege to serve as the Principal at Fort Saskatchewan High, starting the 2024-25 school year. This new chapter fills me with anticipation, yet I carry the memories and wisdom from my time at Sherwood Heights. The support, strength, and resilience I’ve witnessed in this community have been truly inspiring. I am thankful for every moment spent among such exceptional staff, students, and families.

I am confident that the warmth and encouragement extended to me will be warmly offered to Mr. Sandhu. His leadership promises to bring new energies and opportunities to Sherwood Heights, and I am excited to see the school flourish further under his guidance.
