2025-26 Course Registration

Hello Sherwood Heights Families!

We are thrilled to welcome our new and returning students to Sherwood Heights Junior High for the 2025-26 school year! As we prepare for this exciting new chapter, we want to make the course selection process as smooth as possible for everyone.

Important Dates:

• April 2 – Students will receive a printed copy of the Option Course Planning Sheet during grade-level assemblies.
• April 4–15 – We will visit elementary schools to introduce ourselves, share general information about Sherwood Heights, distribute printed copies of the Option Course Planning Sheet, and discuss option courses in more detail.
• April 21 – Deadline for submitting option course requests in the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

Course Selection Process:

Below, you’ll find details on the links and documents that will help guide you through selecting your student’s courses.

What’s Included:

1. 2025-2026 Course Handbook – This guide provides details on the option courses available for the 2025-26 school year. Use it to help your student make their selections.
2. Option Course Planning Sheet – A helpful tool for students to plan their option selections. Instructions for selecting courses in the PowerSchool Parent Portal are included at the top of the sheet.
• Grade 7 students: Will receive a printed copy when we visit their elementary school between April 4 and 15.
• Grade 8 & 9 students: Will receive a printed copy during grade-level assemblies on April 2.
• This sheet is also available below under Attachments.
  

  Note: This does not need to be submitted to the office—unless you selected the second box and are unable to complete the form digitally.

3. Student Request and Programming Information Form – A link to a Microsoft Form where students can request friends to be in their homeroom. We will do our best to accommodate a friend connection, but due to scheduling, it is not always possible.
4. PowerSchool Parent Portal – This is where families must submit option course requests by April 21, 2025.

What to Do:

1. Use the Option Course Planning Sheet to help select courses.
2. Sign into the PowerSchool Parent Portal

a.  Click Class Registration on the left side of the screen.
b.  Follow the instructions on the Option Course Planning Sheet to select courses.
c.  Click Submit when finished.
d.  Complete this by April 21, 2025.

3. Complete the Student Request and Programming Information Form to submit friend requests.
