Thank you to all families and students who completed Elk Island Public Schools’ (EIPS) Transition Planning Engagement Survey. The feedback provided was invaluable and helped the Division develop a draft transition plan. To goal: To ensure smooth transitions for everyone impacted by the decision to relocate the senior high French Immersion program and balance senior high enrolment in Sherwood Park.

With the draft plan now complete, EIPS wants to hear from you again.  

Join us for a drop-in public information session where EIPS will share the draft transition plan in detail with stakeholders—for Solution 1: senior high French Immersion students; and Solution 2: senior high students living in the Lakeland Ridge area. Attendees will also have the chance to learn more about the senior high schools, speak with EIPS representatives, ask questions and share their thoughts. 

The session is open to all impacted students, families and staff. Childcare will be provided. To help attendees prepare, the Division will send stakeholders a copy of the draft transition plan prior to the meeting date.

Can’t make the meeting? That’s OK. You can still provide input by completing an online feedback form—available from January 30 to February 3. EIPS will send the feedback form link to stakeholders and post it online following the public information session.

Returning Student Registration for the 2025-26 school year takes place Feb. 10-24, 2025.

All requests to attend a non-designated school in 2025-26 must be submitted during this timeframe. 

The parent/guardian identified as the Permission Click contact for each student will receive the returning student registration form link to complete in Permission Click. Form emails will start coming out at 9 a.m. but do take some time to get out to all families.
